I rented this with high expectations but ended up stopping it halfway through. I had no view that the disc would be a complete recap of the previous action. Thus my hopes for a unique site twist or perhaps some explanations for many of the mysteries in the series were dashed.

Don’t pick up me nefarious – I like this series. The artwork is astonishing and the soundtrack inspired (thank god for Yoko Kanno – she is hands down my common anime composer today) . But there is so powerful to be explored in this tale! I’m very disappointed that Studio Bones wasted 4 hours of necessary site development time to a recap. Perhaps it was money related – I don’t know the details. What I do know is that as a fan of this series, I wish that these episodes could have been conventional to invent the yarn rather than objective throwing in outmoded animation.

Bottom line: If you’ve not watched any of the previous episodes, you could rep this DVD and regain up on the epic in only 4 episodes as opposed to 12. But who’d want to?

Unless you are one of those people (like me) who rush out and take every disk of a series you like apt when it comes out, please unbiased place your money. This disk is a complete dissapointment, and I’m sorry that I spent money on it. I waited and waited to collect it only to get out that it’s entirely flashbacks! I can understand one recap episode to sum things up, but four? No, thank you. It won’t close me from getting the next one though, it’s a astonishing series, i impartial hope that there’s original stuff on the next disk ^_^
